The HECFE funded S-Lab initiative is holding its Awards Dinner and ‘Supporting World Class Science’ conference at King’s College, London on 1-3 September 2014. The event provides a great opportunity to share experience and gain insight on ways of improving laboratory effectiveness and efficiency, and therefore freeing up more resource for actual science.
It is particularly successful in building bridges between academics, technical staff, estates and others for strategic discussion of laboratory issues. This year has almost 100 presentations – many based on short-listed Award applications – covering the design of many new or refurbished research and teaching labs within the sector, best practice and opportunities for operational improvement, and innovations in the use of laboratories for teaching and research.
The second day offers content aimed at senior managers, followed by a private working lunch. S-Lab is working closely with the UUK and SFC task forces, and has agreed to provide a number of free tickets for both the Conference and the Awards dinner for PVCs, Directors and similarly senior managers wishing to attend. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to take advantage of this offer.
