Ruth Nicholls

Role: Commercial Projects Manager at Ravensbourne

Ruth originally studied law at Cambridge University, specialising in criminal law, penal policy and human rights, and qualified as a barrister before transitioning into a career in digital technology and education.

In 2011 she joined not-for-profit organisation Young Rewired State, a community of advanced young computer programmers, initially managing their partnerships and fundraising and then taking up the position of Managing Director.

In 2015 Ruth moved into the higher education sector, joining the Enterprise and Innovation Centre at Ravensbourne.

She works across their full portfolio of courses, connecting industry partners with students and academics to deliver innovation consultancy and design and content briefs.

Ruth has spoken on numerous panels, and been interviewed on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Breakfast news, on topics including effective digital learning strategies and the inclusion of women in the technology sector.
